பென்டர் எனப்படும் கலப்பி
(Blender என்பது உண்வுப் பொருள்களையும் திரவங்களையும் அரைத்துக் கூழாக்கித் தரும் மின் சாதனம் – மிக்ஸி ஆகும்).
ஒரு காலத்தில் கலப்பி (blender) ஒன்று இருந்தது
அதன் பெயர் பென்டர்
யாரும் வீட்டில் இல்லாத பொழுது
அது உயிர் கொண்டு வரும்; அங்குமிங்கும் அலையும் (roam)
அதனுடைய நண்பர்கள் – கத்தி, முள் கரண்டி, கரண்டி
அங்கே விரைந்து வருவர்
அவர்கள் அங்கே ஒன்று கூடுவார்கள் (gather around)
இங்குமங்கும் அவர்கள் ஓடுவார்கள்
திடீரென ஒரு கார் வரும் ஓசை

Stanza 1:
blender – an electric machine that mixes food and liquids, மிக்ஸி எனப்படும் கலப்பி;
no one was home – when there was nobody in the house, வீட்டில் யாருமில்லாத பொழுது;
He – the blender, அந்தக் கலப்பி;
come alive – become active சுறுசுறுப்பாகி விடு;
roam – wander, அலைந்து திரி;
Stanza 2:
his friends – the friends of the blender, மிக்ஸியின் நண்ப ர்கள்;
soon – in a short time, விரைவில்; knife – /naif |நைஃப்/; என உச்சரிக்கவும்
‘k’ is silent; fork- முள் கரண்டி;
gather- collect, ஒன்று சேர்;
Stanza 3:
glum – sad, here serious, உம்மென்று, அமைதியாக;
hearing the car-they hear the noise of a car coming, கார் வரும் ஓசை;

THE BIG OFFER
ராமு ஒரு சிறிய உணவகத்தை (restaurant /ரெஸ்ட்ரான்/ உச்சரிக்கவும்) நடத்தி வருகிறான். அங்கு சுவையான உணவு (tasty food) கிடைக்கும். ஒரு நாள் அந்த நகரத்தில் ஒரு பெரிய விருந்துக்கு (biggest party) உணவு சமைக்கும் ஆர்டர் அவனுக்குக் கிடைத்தது. ஆனால் அவனுக்கு உடல் நிலை மிகவும் மோசமாக (very sick) இருந்ததால் அவனால் சமைக்க முடியவில்லை .
ராமு: எனக்கு மிகவும் கஷ்டமாக இருக்கிறதே (feel terrible). என்னால் படுக்கையை விட்டு எழக்
கூட முடியவில்லை . ஆனால் நான் சமையல் செய்யாவிட்டால், வேறு யார் செய்ய முடியும்?
சமையல் புத்தகம்: நான் உனக்கு உதவுகிறேன். நான் என் நண்பர்களுடன் சேர்ந்து விருந்துக்கு உணவை தயாரிக்கிறேன்
பானை: சோறு சமைக்கும் அளவுக்கு நான் பெரிதாக இருக்கிறேன்.
கலக்கி: நான் அதி வேகமானவன் (fastest). சில நிமிடங்களில் நான் உணவைத் தயாரித்து விடுவேன். பழங்களையும் பாலையும் அரைத்துக் கலந்து விடுவேன். அதன் பின் கொஞ்சம் சீனி

The Two Pots
இரண்டு பானைகள்
இரண்டு பானைகள் அங்கே இருக்கின்றன. ஒன்று மண் பானை. மற்றொன்று பித்தளைப் பானை (brass pot)
அவை விளையாடுவதற்காக ஆற்றிற்குச் சென்றன. பித்தளைப் பானை கூறியது “என்னால் ஆற்றில் நீந்த முடியும் ஆனால் உன்னால் அது முடியாது.”
மண்பானை “ஏன்?” எனக் கேட்டது.
பித்தளைப் பானை கூறியது “பாறையில் (rock) மோதினால் (hit) நீ உடைந்து விடுவாய்”.
“சரி நாம் முயற்சிக்கலாம்” என மண்பானை கூறியது. இரண்டு பானைகளும் ஆற்றில் நீந்தத் துவங்கின.
“இன்னும் ஆழமாக (deep) நாம் நீந்துவோம்” என்றது பித்தளைப்பானை.
“வேண்டாம். நாம் ஆற்றங்கரைக்குத் (river bank) திரும்பி விடுவோம்” என்றது மண்பானை.

மண்பானை ஆற்றங்கரைக்கு திரும்பி விட்டது. ஆனால் பித்தளைப் பானை ஆற்றுக்குள் தொடர்ந்து சென்றது (went on).
விரைவில் ஆறு ஆழமாகப் (deep) போனது. பித்தளைப் பாத்திரத்தால் நீந்த முடியவில்லை. “காப்பாற்றுங்கள்! காப்பாற்றுங்கள்!” என அது சத்தமிட்டது.
அதைக் காப்பாற்ற மண்பானை ஒரு குச்சியை (stick) ஆற்றங்கரையிலிருந்து எடுத்து வந்தது. அதன் பின் அந்த மண் பானையும் பித்தளைப் பானையும் ஆற்றில் விளையாடுவதில்லை.
அவர்கள் ஆற்றின் அருகில் தான் (by the river) விளையாடினார்கள்.
